Within the framework of the Aarhus Convention, a meeting was conducted in the city of Dushanbe with the aim of guaranteeing public participation in the environmental decision-making process and encouraging the adoption of green economy principles. Representatives of the EIEC of the countries party to the Aarhus Convention took part in the meeting.
The aim of the meetings was to showcase best practices regarding how crucial it is for nations, international bodies, and society as a whole to put the ideas of the Aarhus Convention into practice. Since 2002, the OSCE has supported the operation of Aarhus Centers and the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in several countries in South-Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus.
Tamar Aladashvili, the director of the EIEC, provided a presentation at the meeting on promoting the green economy's principles and public participation in Georgia's environmental decision-making process.
The Office of the Coordinator of Economic and Environmental Activities of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) organized the annual meeting of Aarhus Centres in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
