A presentation of the primary results of the national inventory of greenhouse gases was held

The meeting was opened by Ekaterine Bendeliani, deputy director of the EIEC, and Ekaterine Mikadze, representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and national coordinator of the EU4Climate program.

The objective of the meeting was to get acquainted with primary data on the emission and absorption of greenhouse gases in the following sectors: agriculture, land use, the change of land use, Land use change and forestry(LULUCF), industry and waste, also the review of the changes made in greenhouse gases inventory report, and learning about the recommendations and opinions of stakeholders.

Under the "Development of Georgia's Fifth National Notification and First Biennial Transparency Report to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)" project, which is being carried out by the EIEC with assistance from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the countrywide inventory of greenhouse gases is being completed.
