The new training modules were introduced to the representatives of the University and Agrarian Colleges

In order to get acquainted with the training module "Climate Sustainable Agriculture," the Eiec held working meetings with representatives of the University of Agrarian Studies and vocational colleges in Adjara.

Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Eiec, introduced the "Climate Sustainable Agriculture" course and the "Climate Change Sustainable, Low Emission Agriculture" guide to  Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Blex and Akhali Talga Colleges, the Agro Service Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara, Agrarian Teachers, Quality Managers, and College Directors.

The course includes an overview of the agro-ecological and climatic zones in Georgia; familiarity with the established climatic conditions in the fields of vegetation and animal husbandry; the impact of climate change on agriculture; and the importance of developing climate-friendly and sustainable agriculture. The purpose of introducing a climate-friendly agricultural training course in vocational schools is to train relevant professional staff to assess the risks posed by climate change in agricultural activities, develop mitigation measures and introduce modern approaches.

The first training module in Georgia was developed with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation as part of the project "Modernization of Vocational Education in Agriculture in Georgia."
