Three Alazani Biosphere Reserve Small Grants Programme

You are cordially invited to consultative meetings about the grant contest on behalf of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia within the framework of the DIAPOL-CE project will take place:

November 19, 3:00 p.m.: Village of Kvemo Alvani, House of Culture
November 20, 11:00, Akhmeta City, House of Culture
November 22, 11:00 a.m.: village of Zemo Alvani, community house
November 22, 3:00 p.m., Pankisi Valley, Duis Village
November 25, 11:00 a.m.: Pankisi Valley, village Jokolo
November 25, 15:00: Ilto Valley, village Shakhvetila, in the ambulatory building

We remind you that the grant projects will be implemented in the territory of the Sami Alazni Biosphere Reserve.

Eight projects with a geographical dispersion will get grants totaling 5000 euros in GEL; one project proposal that is very significant will receive funding equivalent to 10,000 euros in GEL. The grantee's contribution, whether in cash or in kind, must equal at least 10%.

Individuals, groups united by a common interest, local farmers, non-governmental organizations, and local entrepreneurs can participate in the contest..

The project DIAPOL-CE, "Policy Dialogue and Knowledge Management on Climate Change Strategies," is funded by the German International Climate Initiative (IKI) and mandated by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV).

 In Georgia, the project Biosphere Reserves as Model Regions for Sustainable Development in Georgia: Strengthening the Capacity for Coordinated and Effective Management of the Three Alazni Biosphere Reserves - is implemented by the Regional Environmental Centre of the Caucasus (RECC) and the Mikhail Zhukov Foundation (MSF).
