Within the framework of the "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School" program, about 2,000 teachers were trained this year

To integrate environmental and agricultural issues into the educational process, primary-level teachers and curriculum experts are trained regularly. Tamar Aladashvili, director of the EIEC, met the trained teachers and handed over certificates and supporting manuals for "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School".

‘’Teachers can incorporate a variety of activities with an emphasis on agriculture and the environment into their lessons with the assistance of the EIEC's training courses. The active participation of educational sector representatives in the retraining process is much appreciated,’’ according to Tamar Aladashvili.

A helpful manual, "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School," was prepared for teachers at the EIEC. The textbook covers important topics of environmental and agricultural education and is easily adaptable for students in the primary grades (grades I–VI).

Within the program, young people acquire basic knowledge on such crucial issues as sustainable development, biodiversity protection, water resource protection, air pollution protection, climate change and natural hazard reduction, waste management, land management and combating desertification, sustainable agriculture, and food safety and quality.

The EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia started the process of teacher training in 2021 within the "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School" program. At this stage, around 6,000 primary school teachers have been trained throughout the country.
