Within the International Forest Day celebration campaign, an informational meeting was held for students of the N191 school in Tbilisi, organized by the EIEC
During the meeting, Ekaterine Bendeliani, the deputy director of the EIEC, highlighted the significance of environmental education and forest resources.The students received information about the forest management system and forest biodiversity. The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental, Protection, and Agriculture of Georgia introduced the students to the activities of logging, technical processes, and methodology of forest inventory.
The United Nations General Assembly decided to mark the International Day of Forests, and it has been observed since 2012. This day is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the value of forests. International Forest Day is being observed this year with the theme "Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World."
