The issues related to the green economy in Eastern countries, further reforms, and achieved progress were discussed at the meeting.
The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development attended the meeting.
Tamar Aladashvili, director of the EIEC, introduced the participants to the progress made in sustainable public procurement, eco-labeling, and eco-innovations and updated legislation in Georgia. It should be noted that in cases defined by the decree of the Government of Georgia, the purchasing organization is obliged to take into account the characteristics necessary for sustainable development in the purchasing conditions.
The meeting was attended by national responsible persons of Eastern Partnership countries, representatives of the European Council and EU delegations, EU member states, civil society, and implementing partners of EU4Environment (OECD, UNECE, UNEP, UNIDO, and the World Bank).
