The main objective of establishing the Agricultural Education Coordinating Council is to support the creation of a network of farmers for knowledge sharing and the strengthening of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS).
The the challenges that exist in the field of providing information and raising awareness to farmers were discussed at the meeting.
Tamar Aladashvili, Director of EIEC, Irine Margishvili, Director of Professional Skills Agency, representatives of local non-governmental and international organizations, the Czech Development Agency, agricultural associations, and private sector representatives attended the meeting.
The Agricultural Education Coordinating Council is being established within the project "Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture VET (Phase 3)."
The project is implemented by the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project aims to support the development of extension and educational services in Georgian agriculture.
