World Food Safety Day was celebrated on a large scale in Georgia

Organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the National Food Agency, several informative and educational activities were held on June 7 in connection with World Food Safety Day.

An exhibition and sale of Georgian food products were organized in Rikhe Park in Tbilisi. With the involvement of the Environmental Information and Education Center, an open lesson was held for students on the topic "Food safety: myths and facts.".

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and its agencies, including the Czech Development Agency, scientific circles, the business sector, and students.

This year, World Food Safety Day focuses on identifying potential risks associated with food consumption and ways to avoid them. The population and businesses need to know how to purchase, prepare, and consume food safely and how to act in case of food poisoning.

World Food Safety Day is celebrated on June 7 every year since 2019 by the initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
