To promote environmental and agricultural education, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the EIEC and the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara.
At the meeting organized by the EIEC, the topics of cooperation and experience sharing in terms of agricultural and environmental education in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara were discussed.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili, spoke about the importance of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) and noted that the system ensures the availability of knowledge and innovations for interested parties in agriculture and the introduction of effective coordination mechanisms.
Within the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the EIEC and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. The purpose of signing the memorandum is to promote environmental and agricultural education through the strengthening of professional skills, professional training and retraining, and extension systems.
The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Zaza Shavadze, the project manager of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Elene Tskhakaia, the director of the EIEC Tamar Aladashvili, the coordinator of the project "Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture VET (STAGE 3)," Tamar Sanikidze, and guests.
The meeting was held within the project "Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture VET (STAGE 3)," which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Within the cooperation, the extensionists of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Guria region were trained in the direction of rural and agricultural extension.
