The "Green Award" contest is announced by the Environmental Information and Education Centre

For the 2024–2025 school year, the Environmental Information and Education Centre is announcing the "Green Award" contest to identify Georgia's top primary school (grades 1-6) teachers and educators/methodologists.

The "Green Award" contest is open to all primary school and kindergarten teachers and methodologists who are currently employed in educational institutions, teach environmental and/or agricultural topics in both formal and informal education, and carry out activities based on the relevant supporting textbooks "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School" and "Preschool Environmental Education."

The contest aims to increase teachers' motivation to teach environmental and agricultural topics and to provide an opportunity to share best practices. The deadline for applications is March 20, 2025.
The winner will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5.
There will be two stages to the contest:

Stage I: Application selection

Stage II: Providing completed projects and activities

A special committee will select the top 10 based on the outcomes of both stages, the winning teacher and educator/methodologist will be awarded the “Green Award”.
To take part in the contest, fill out the application form electronically (in Word format) and, if desired, attach photo/video material depicting the activities you have carried out (in one folder). The duration of the video should not exceed 10 minutes.

Electronic submissions of contest items can be made to education@eiec.gov.ge.
Kindly include "Green Award – for primary school teachers" or "Green Award – preschool environmental education" in the subject line of the email.
To spread the word about the contest and to learn more, an online open house will be held for educators and methodologists.
