"Successful agricultural researchers, farmers, students, and those working for public and non-governmental organisations were given honorary certificates named after Tengiz Urushadze, one of the founders of the Georgian School of Soil Science. Solomon Pavliashvili stated, "This award inspires young professionals, builds relationships between educational and scientific-research institutions and public and non-governmental organisations, and lays the groundwork for the promotion and support of the field of soil science."

The winners of the essay contest “Soil – Source of Life” dedicated to Soil Day were awarded at the event.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations presented computer equipment to the top-place finisher, Nia Chapandze, an eighth-grader at Ganmukhuri Public School in the village of Zugdidi Municipality. Gift cards were given to the top ten and the second and third place winners.
