In collaboration with the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted a nationwide ideas competition “Climate-Smart Agriculture”.
The competition aims to engage youth in the green agriculture sector, generate innovative solutions for climate-resilient agriculture in Georgia, and raise awareness about sustainable practices.
Out of 18 ideas received, the authors of the four best ideas were awarded by the event’s sponsors and partners. Participants, both individually and in teams, presented ideas that contribute to the transformation of Georgian agriculture into a lower-emission sector.
The idea competition - "Ideathon" was held as a part of National Multi-Stakeholder Exchange on Low-Emission and Climate-Resilient Agriculture in Georgia in the framework of the project "Strategic Readiness for Implementing Georgia's Renewed Nationally Determined Contribution and Achieving Climate Sustainability" funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
