Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture (Phase 3)

The main goal of cooperation is to promote the spread of environmental and agricultural education in Georgian society, raise awareness, increase the involvement of the population in the decision-making process, and promote AKIS at the national and regional levels.

By supporting high-level national and regional AKIS systems, consultations, and training and retraining mechanisms in the fields of agriculture and environmental protection, the project's primary goal is to support the strengthening of the institutional capacity of the LSI Environmental Information and Education Centre (EIEC). putting in place quality control systems based on global best practices.

Outcomes:
Outcome 1: The EIEC is institutionally strengthened to facilitate the development of effective knowledge and information transfer mechanisms in agriculture.
Outcome 2: The Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) has been strengthened at the national level and piloted in at least two regions of Georgia.
Outcome 3: Mechanisms for the implementation of consultation, training, and retraining programs for farmers within the concept of lifelong learning (LLL) are developed.
Outcome 4: Promote environmental and climate-smart agriculture by implementing best practices in secondary schools, vocational training, and higher education institutions.
