A public hearing on amendments to the laws of Georgia "On the creation and management of the protected landscape of Aragvi" and "On the creation and management of the protected areas of Pshav-Khevsureti"

The public discussion of draft amendments to the laws of Georgia "On the creation and management of the protected landscape of Aragvi" and "On the creation and management of the protected areas of Pshav-Khevsureti" will be held on July 1, 2022, at 11:00.

On the amendments to Georgian laws, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia prepared draft laws "On the creation and management of protected areas of Pshav-Khevsureti" and "On the creation and management of the protected landscape of Aragvi." The change implies, on the one hand, the cancellation of the Pshav-Khevsureti multi-use territory category defined by the Georgian Law "On the Creation and Management of the Pshav-Khevsureti Protected Areas" and, on the other hand, the expansion of the protected landscape of Aragvi to the Vashlobi and Khorkhevi valleys, as well as the status of the protected landscape for the above-mentioned multi-use area As a result of the assignment.

The issue of the possibility of expanding the protected landscape of Aragvi, as well as the issue of raising the protection category of the multifaceted territory of Pshav-Khevsureti, was agreed with the local self-government, the Agency of Protected Areas of Ukraine, the National Forestry Agency of Ukraine, the Administration of Protected Landscape of Aragvi and other agencies.
