The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture-elaborated draft law on “Industrial Emissions” has been published with entailing legal documents for public scrutiny.
The respective draft law has been elaborated in accordance with the requirements set forth by the European Union, European Atomic Energy Community and the EU-Georgia Association Agreement. The draft law las been harmonized with the Industrial Emissions Directive (Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010 on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control), which is a European Union directive which sets the new legislative bases control and reduce the impact of industrial missions, issuing an integrated permissions for an industrial operations causing pollution, terms, oversight over implementation control, authority/responsibility of state bodies and physical/legal entities and etc.
Public hearing will take place at the LEPL Environmental Information and Education Centre (EIEC) under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA) on March 13, 2020, at 15:00 o’clock, EIEC’s conference hall (address: 6, Marshal Gelovani avenue, administrative building # 2, 2nd floor). It shall also be noted that the primary version of the draft law has been published on MEPA’s web-page on April 24, 2019.
