On March 29, 2022, at 12 o'clock, an online discussion of the project "Mtirala National Park Management Plan" will be held.
The draft Mtirala National Park Management Plan was developed by the Agency for Protected Areas and the Mtirala National Park Administration with the participation of local people, NGOs, local self-government and other relevant stakeholders. The management plan was developed with the support of the Caucasus Wildlife Fund (CNF) in the framework of the GEF-UNDP project "Promoting the Financial Sustainability of Georgian Protected Areas," with the support of a team of consultants from the Mtirala and Machakhela Protected Areas Friends Association and the Georgian Protected Areas Friends Network.
The management plan was developed in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Georgia on the System of Protected Areas and the Statute of the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and approved by Order # 110 of March 12, 2014 "On the stages and procedures for preparing the management plan, content and thematic parts." The goal of the management plan is to set long-term goals for Mtirala National Park and identify the measures needed to achieve those goals.
