Public discussion of the project "Vashlovani Protected Areas Management Plan"

Tbilisi, Tbilisi, City Tbilisi, Tbilisi

On April 7, 2022, at 12 o'clock, the public discussion of the project "Vashlovani Protected Areas Management Plan" will be held online.

The draft Vashlovani Protected Areas Management Plan was prepared with the financial support of the Caucasus Wildlife Fund (CNF) within the framework of the GEF/UNDP project "Promoting the Financial Sustainability of the Georgian Protected Areas System", LEPL Agency of Protected Areas, Vashlovani Protected Areas Administration, and NGOs. With the active participation of local self-government bodies, the Ministry's relevant service, and other stakeholders, the work process of developing and updating the management plan was facilitated by the non-governmental organisations Vashlovani Protected Areas Association and Sabuko.

The management plan was created in accordance with the requirements of Georgia's Protected Areas Law and the regulations for preparing the structure, content, and thematic parts of the protected area management plan, which were approved by Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Order N110 on March 12, 2014. The management plan's mission is to analyse the state of the Vashlovani Protected Areas, identify risks and core values, and set long- and short-term conservation and preservation targets.
