A public discussion of the 2023–2025 ambient air quality management plan for the central zone will be held

A public review of the 2023–2025 ambient air quality management plan for the central zone will be held.

The public discussion is scheduled for June 26 at 11:00 in the Rustavi Municipality City Hall building (N20 Kostava Ave.). under the coordination of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden., in accordance with the rule of "development, monitoring, and evaluation of policy documents" approved by the Resolution of the Government of Georgia dated December 20, 2019, N629, and with the involvement of Georgian and European experts, a draught plan for the management of ambient air quality for the years 2023–2025 was developed for the central zone, whose public consultation process has started.

The central zone of ambient air quality monitoring and management includes the Kvemo and Shida Kartli regions and Mtskheta municipality. The purpose of the plan is to implement appropriate measures to improve the quality of the ambient air in the mentioned area with the involvement of state agencies and municipalities.

Comments and opinions regarding the draught plan can be submitted no later than June 26, 2023, to lasha.akhalaia@mepa.gov.ge.
